- Standing seam vs exposed-fastener — how much more?
- Standing seam is typically the more expensive option installed, but the gap depends heavily on the panel gauge, finish and your installer. Enter the rate from your quote for the system you chose.
- Is trim really 12%?
- It's a reasonable default for a straightforward gable. A roof with many hips, valleys and penetrations uses more trim and labour — raise the percentage or fold it into your rate.

- Trim & accessories — Ridge, hip, eave, rake, valley trim, closures and fasteners as a % of the panel cost. 8–15% typical.
- Steep-slope / complexity uplift — Add a percentage for a steep or cut-up roof. 0 for a simple gable.
- Fixed fees — Permits, tear-off, access — a flat amount.
